Mastery Bursary Information

You know how Mastery can change a life and you know of people who would
like to go but may not be able to afford it?  Well here is a way for you to support some special people.

What is it?
The Alberta Mastery Bursary Fund was established in 2002 by Alberta-based graduates of the Mastery workshop. Donations made to this bursary are used to support people living with cancer who otherwise could not afford to attend. Candidates for the bursary may be nominated by anyone within the Mastery community. These funds are then matched dollar-for-dollar by Jill Kennedy to subsidize 100% of the tuition for a successful nominee.
Your gift can make a huge difference in someone’s life. If you feel inspired and are ready to take action, here’s what you can do:

1. Make a donation.

A. During the Mastery weekend:
Present your donation (cash or cheque please) to either Jill Kennedy or Marianna Van Gough who will deposit the funds into the Alberta Mastery Bursary Fund account.

B. After the Mastery weekend:
Make your cheque or money order payable to Alberta Mastery Bursary Fund
* To submit your donation, mail it to:

Marianna Van Gough
Site 15, Box 12
Cochrane, AB T4C 1A1

(Note: these contributions do not qualify as a charitable donation for tax purposes so no receipts will be issued)

2. Make a nomination:

If you know of someone who qualifies for the Alberta Mastery Bursary Fund, and would like to nominate them:

Contact:
Marianna Van Gough
  soekawana@aol.com
  (403) 851-7606

You will be sent the guidelines document. Share these guidelines with the nominee you have in mind and request they contact Marianna for further support if they believe they meet the guidelines. Marianna will coordinate the application with the Alberta Mastery Bursary Fund committee.

Applications will be assessed on the candidate’s perceived desire and integrity to transform their life; their commitment to actively participate in the follow-up support process; the perceived urgency; plus the impact and inspiration that their participation will have on their family, friends and the Mastery community as a whole. In addition, their resourcefulness to fulfill the logistical requirements will also be considered.
